The student plays almost all rhythms accurately, in the appropriate tempo and sith a steady beat.

Good
The student plays most rhythms correctly at the appropriate tempo, and with a mostly steady beat.
Fair

The student plays some rhythms correctly but has an unsteady beat and an inappropriate tempo.

Poor
The student plays few rhythms correctly with no decernable tempo or beat.
Tone Quality
Excellent

The student produces a beautifully focused tone with good breath support all the time through out the range of the instrument. The student can add vibrato if appropriate.

Good

The student produced a good, mostly focused tone with good breath support most of the time. Extremes in range are thin or pinched.

Fair

The student produces a weak occasionally focused tone, with inconsistant breath support.

Poor
The student produces a poor, unfocused tone with little or no breath support.
Participation
Excellent

The Student is an active participant, brings his/her instrument, music, mutes, and equipment to class and the music is marked appropriately.

Good

The studnet is an active participant in rehearsals, brings his/her instrument and music to class most of the time and marks the music.

Fair
The student participates in class most of the time, takes care of his/her instrument and music most of the time and there is evidence of some marking of the music.
Poor

The student participates in rehearsals spuradically, does not take care of the music, and never marks in the music. The student was not in attendance at a performance

Throughly Prepared
The student's performance indicates regular and sustained practice outside of class, with great attention to detail and areas of difficulty.
Quite Well Prepared

The student's performance indicates regular practice outside of class with some attention to areas of difficulty.

Not Very Well Prepared

The student's performance indicates some practice outside of class, but with little or no attention to areas of difficulty.

Unprepared
The student's performance indicates there is very little practice outside of class.
